St. Justin School is proud to be part of the Diocese of San Jose and the community of the city of Santa Clara. We are a Catholic school committed to providing the best learning experience possible in a caring and active Catholic community.

At a Glance

Our school is made up of students in Preschool (age 3), Pre-Kindergarten (age 4), and Kindergarten through Eighth grades.

St. Justin School is dedicated to providing a Christ-centered community that focuses on the needs of the whole child. Our school provides a quality Catholic education in a safe and nurturing environment, fostering the development of faith-filled individuals who are responsible and socially just citizens.

    • More than half of our teachers have advanced degrees.

    • Grades K-3 have designated instructional aides

    • Theater arts program (Starting Arts) for students in grades 3-8.

    • Student leadership opportunities including Student Council and Helping Hands Club.

    • Sacramental program: Students receive First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in 2nd grade. Students in grades 3-8 receive Reconciliation twice a year.

    • Community service hours and service project presentation required in grades 6-8

    • Hands-on science and engineering lab teachers in grades 4-8

    • Integrated technology (devices) in each grade level paired with adaptive (individualized) software programs

    • Curriculum based on California Common Core Standards and guidelines established by the Diocese of San Jose

    • Accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA)

Our Curriculum

St. Justin School offers a curriculum of challenging academic course work as well as physical education, technology skills, art, and music instruction. On average, St. Justin students score in the top third of the nation in Reading and Math. Graduates of St. Justin School are well prepared to meet the demands of Catholic high school. Over the last five years, 99% of students who applied to Catholic high school were accepted – 25% with honors. Learn more about our curriculum by grade here.

In partnership with our families, school staff, and parish community, students are challenged to fulfill their unique potential within an academic environment. Our History

Yesterday

  • 1951, St. Justin Parish Founded
    Monsignor Ronald Mentasti founded St. Justin Parish in 1951 with a full parish campus in mind. The first church was actually a stable on the corner of Scott Boulevard and Homestead Road where masses were held every Sunday.

  • 1955, the first church building on the present site was erected
    The remaining parish buildings were completed in 1956.

  • 1958, Archbishop Mitty granted permission for the building of a school
    Monsignor Mentasti began classes under the direction of the Dominican Missionary Sisters from Natal, South Africa. The school was formally dedicated on October 17, 1959, in a ceremony officiated by his Excellency, the Most Revered Merlin Gulfoyle.

  • 1965, St. Justin School operated with eight full grades for the first time
    St. Justin School held its first graduation in June 1966.

  • 2019, St. Justin School celebrated it's 60th Anniversary
